call for participation: the Remaking Moby-Dick project as a special print issue of PRJ

20 Jul

For full details about the project, please visit the Remaking Moby-Dick website.

Responses to Moby-Dick can take almost any original form (artistic or critical, individual or collaborative).

  1. FOR THE PRINT PRODUCTION OF REMAKING MOBY-DICK, please select one of the uncommitted chapters, write (or create an image) to remake the chapter, and submit your text or image via Submittable. DEADLINE: September 15, 2013.
  2. FOR THE SECOND SCREENING OF THE EXPANDED REMAKING MOBY-DICK, please select one of the uncommitted chapters, create a video response that remakes it, load it to YouTube with the chapter number in its title, and email the link to remakingmoby at gmail dot com.  DEADLINE: October 15, 2013.

Responses should either engage ideas specific to separate chapters or passages in Moby-Dick or critically interpret some aspect of the novel, extending the meaning and significance of Moby-Dick and reflecting on its continued relevance. The full text of Moby-Dick is available at Project Gutenberg.  Chapter synopses are available at Novel Guide.

Re-Making Moby-Dick and the Mixing Realities Digital Performance Festival are funded by Art Line, a South Baltic Programme EU Project exploring art innovation in public, physical, and digital space.

If you have questions, please contact the curator, Trish Harris, at remakingmoby at gmail dot com.
